Stillborn Slayer, a fast-paced action game with RPG elements, has captured my attention with its engaging gameplay and unique mechanics. As I delved deeper into the game, I found myself enjoying the experience despite some minor issues.

One aspect that stood out to me was the dodge roll mechanic. While it feels a bit janky in parkour sections, I believe implementing a faster initial half of the dodge followed by a slower second half could greatly improve the overall feel. This would allow for smoother dodging and more precise control over character movement.

On a positive note, the game's ability to upgrade weapons and characters is a welcome feature. It adds a sense of progression and accomplishment as you collect rewards and improve your chances of success. The inventory system is also well-designed, allowing players to switch between armor, weapons, and accessories seamlessly.

However, I do have some criticisms. The extremely fast projectiles, particularly those used by the Rotten and final boss, can feel cheap and even unfair at times. It's a matter of luck more than skill, which detracts from the overall experience.

Another issue I encountered was the stamina system. While it adds a layer of realism to character movement, it can become tedious and feel like you're spending more time waiting for stamina to regenerate than actually attacking. A rework or adjustment to this mechanic could greatly improve the gameplay flow.

Despite these issues, Stillborn Slayer is an enjoyable game with a lot of potential. Fans of Enter the Gungeon and Archvale may find themselves drawn to its similar vibes and fast-paced action. With some fine-tuning and adjustments, I believe this game could become even more engaging and rewarding for players. If you're looking for a new action-RPG to sink your teeth into, Stillborn Slayer is definitely worth checking out.
